About Motorcycle Dictionary

Motorcycle Dictionary exists for one reason: to make motorcycling less intimidating for people who are just getting started.

When you're new to riding, the learning curve is steep. There are hundreds of terms you've never heard, dozens of gear brands claiming to be the best, and a mountain of conflicting advice from forums, YouTube comments, and that one guy at the dealership who swears you need a 600cc sportbike for your first motorcycle.

We cut through all of that. Every article on this site is written in plain English, designed for someone who might not know the difference between a clutch and a throttle yet. We explain concepts clearly, recommend gear honestly, and never talk down to our readers.

Who's Behind This

Motorcycle Dictionary is created by 6FOOT4HONDA, a motorcycle creator with over 1.2 million subscribers on YouTube and 164 million+ views. Since 2016, the channel has produced over 1,000 videos covering everything from beginner riding tips and gear reviews to full engine builds, stunts, and cross-country road trips.

This site is the text companion to the YouTube channel — a place where beginners can search for a term, read a guide, or find the right gear without watching a 20-minute video. Sometimes you just need a quick answer, and that's what we're here for.

Our Approach to Gear Recommendations

We only recommend gear we'd actually use ourselves. Every product featured on this site has been researched, compared against alternatives, and evaluated for protection, value, and real-world usability.

Some of the links on this site are affiliate links. That means if you click a link and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This is how we keep the site running and the content free. It never influences our recommendations — we'd rather lose a commission than recommend something that puts a rider at risk.
